Three steps: design a high-intent lead magnet that solves one small, burning problem related to what you sell (so it repels the wrong people), send traffic to a simple short opt-in page, then activate and imprint every new lead in the first days so they open, read, click and buy.
These are the 3 biggest (and nastiest) challenges 90% of my private clients deal with:
#1 – Their offers aren’t converting high enough
#2 – They’re dealing with inconsistent sales
#3 – They don’t have enough high-quality leads to feed into their systems
I covered the first one in why your offer isn’t selling and the second in how to get consistent sales from your email list.
And here, I’ll show you how to fix Problem #3:
Not enough high-quality leads joining your list
A particularly nasty problem.
Why?
Because – without a fresh supply of new leads joining your list month after month – it’s pretty much impossible to keep a healthy growth trajectory.
It’s kind of like trying to build (and grow) a city next to a river that’s drying up.
Sure… you can kind of do it to some degree…
But it will NEVER become the next New York, Paris, London, or Berlin.
(and usually not even a mid-sized city!)
For growth, you need a stream of new leads like a city needs a reliable supply of fresh water.
That’s your lifeblood.

Send Me the Rapid Lead Activator →So to fix this, I usually do 3 things:
– First, I help my clients Design An Effective Lead Magnet (that attracts the RIGHT-FIT leads… instead of a bunch of tire-kickers)
– Then, once we have an intent-based lead magnet, I help them build a High-Converting Opt-In Funnel (that makes the signup process effective & efficient)
– And finally, we make sure that the new leads joining their list are Activated & Imprinted Properly

So let’s unpack these 3 key elements one by one:
What makes a lead magnet attract the right people?
1 – Design An Effective Lead Magnet
Here’s the thing:
Most people look at their lead magnets as an afterthought.
They usually think:
“Oh, let’s just give them something random for free and get as many of them as possible to subscribe”
And while that *does* seem logical on the surface…
It usually sets you up for failure.
Why?
Because an effective lead magnet is MUCH more than just a tactic to get a subscriber.
Most people never consider things like:
1 – What kind of person do I want to attract with this?
2 – What kind of small, but burning problem does the lead magnet solve?
3 – How does solving that small problem relate to your paid solutions solving a bigger problem (of which that small problem is only a part of)?
4 – What’s the Ideal Subscriber Journey for someone requesting that lead magnet?
5 – How to come up with a unique “Big Idea” for your lead magnet (that’s right. It’s not just long-form sales pages and VSLs that need Big Ideas!)?
…And many other things like that.
As a result, their lead magnets usually underperform in every way.
So what I like to do is that:
First, we re-visit the marketing + Ideal Customer Avatar research…
And based on that, we brainstorm various ideas… pick the best one… and then come up with a proper “Big Idea” for it.
Once we have that, we go DEEP into developing a High-Intent Lead Magnet…
(that automatically attracts the right person, repels bad-fit leads, and sets them up for increased engagement further down the line)
And finally we Package & Position it to Attract the Right Leads.
This process creates dramatically better results…
And everyone comes out of it happier :)
But we don’t stop there!
Because once we have the proper lead magnet…
What should an opt-in page look like?
2 – We Build a High-Converting Opt-In Funnel
There are many, MANY flavors to this…
And everyone’s situation is different (so there’s no one-size-fits-all solution)…
But we usually start by engineering the main strategy behind a funnel structure that would work best for them…
And then the first major step is Creating a Simple Landing Page.
Now look…
There are many ways to “skin a cat”, so to say…
But for lead generation purposes, I usually prefer short-form opt-in pages.
Pre-suade them with long(er) form content in ad, advertorial, or content piece…
And then drive them to a simple opt-in page, with minimal distractions.
You can’t really go wrong with that.
(Almost every one of my landing pages + the pages of my clients consistently convert over 50% with this)
Then, once we have the landing page, it’s time to decide which 1-2 major Traffic Sources It’s Worth Tapping Into.
Content marketing?
JV swaps?
YouTube?
It depends… but we custom-tailor the traffic source to their unique offer + funnel.
Then, we launch the whole thing to Start Generating Quality New Subscribers…
And then we observe, measure, and improve if needed.
So then as the last major step…
What happens after someone opts in?
3 – We Make Sure New Leads Joining The List Are Activated Properly
Now THIS is something almost no one talks about.
So it’s no wonder why the first book I wrote was about this particular topic.
It’s just such a “quick fix” missed opportunity for most people.
Here’s the TL/DR:
Lead Activation is a combination of:
1 – Giving people a great first-impression
2 – And encouraging them to engage with your first few emails
3 – While boosting your email deliverability score
4 – And starting the process of building Know, Like, and Trust
5 – So they’ll Trust you faster and buy stuff from you sooner
But the key things to consider is that:
First, we Map Out an Ideal Subscriber Journey
Then, we Create Pre-Suasive Post-Opt-In Assets
Last, we Deploy an Imprinting Sequence
When done correctly, this results in much, MUCH higher-quality leads that open, read, click, and buy much more (compared to non-Activated leads)
…
..
.
So there you have it…
Now you can clearly see the step-by-step process I go through with my private clients to take them from not enough good leads to high-quality lead flow.
Where to start this week
1. Write down who your lead magnet should repel. If the answer is “nobody”, it’s attracting tire-kickers.
2. Name the small, burning problem it solves. Then check that it’s part of the bigger problem your paid offer solves.
3. Strip your opt-in page down. Headline, a line or two, the form. Let the ad or the content do the persuading.
4. Plan the first 3 emails after the opt-in. That’s where a lead becomes a reader… or a name on a list.
Here’s what one of my campaigns built this way did in its first 30 hours: 251 replies from 544 new subscribers.
And the post-opt-in part – activation and imprinting – is exactly what my Profitable Imprinting Sequence training teaches.
