How to Make AI Write Like You (What 160,892 of My Words Revealed)

By  Csaba Borzasi

Don’t hand AI a pile of your call transcripts and hope. You don’t write the way you talk – in 64,181 words of me talking, “kind of like” shows up 100 times; in 96,711 words of my emails, 3 times. Give the AI two written files instead: a Voice DNA profile built from 20–30 of your best writing samples, and a profile of the person you’re writing to.

Full disclosure: I sell a tool that builds those two files (it’s at the end).

But you can do all of this by hand… it just takes longer.

Why does AI still sound generic?

A while back, we had the first call of my Bionic Email System group.

And something unexpected happened:

You see…

I went into the call with a rough plan…

I had a neat little presentation ready (not too long, just 20 minutes to lay the groundwork).

I walked the group through the three stages…

Showed them the Emerald Email Engine in real time…

Explained how the whole system works…

And then, towards the end of the call, I mentioned something I assumed everyone already had.

I said:

“Ok, so your assignment until next week is to collect 20-30 of your best writing samples. We’re going to use these to create your own Voice Style Bible and your own Dream Client Profile”

And then someone asked:

“Wait… I don’t have a voice style guide. I don’t have an ideal client avatar document either. How do I create one?”

And then someone else chimed in with the same thing.

And another.

Turns out, almost nobody in the group had either of these documents!

Which honestly surprised me.

Why?

Because these two things are kind of the foundation for using AI to help you write like YOU…

(instead of “Generic Marketing Guy/Gal”)

And for making sure every email you send is laser-targeted to your IDEAL person… the one you’d loooove to attract.

Without these key resources, even the best AI tools are basically guessing.

It’s the missing layer that most people don’t have…

And it’s why most AI output still sounds generic even when you use “good prompts”.

Why can’t AI learn your voice from transcripts?

Because you don’t write the way you talk.

Nobody does.

When I built my own Voice DNA profile, I put 64,181 words of me talking (real coaching, consulting and workshop calls) next to 96,711 words from 144 of my emails.

Look at the gap:

HabitTalking (64,181 words)Writing (96,711 words)
“kind of like”1003
“or something” at the end of a sentence972
“right?” as a tag question907
“let’s say”451
“here’s the thing”113
Stretched words (“sooooo”)040+
Ellipses (…)–3,086

Same guy. Same ideas. Two very different fingerprints.

When I talk, I cushion a claim with “kind of like, I don’t know…”

When I write, the cushion disappears… and an ellipsis does the job instead.

When I talk, I repeat for emphasis: “so, so, so, so super important.”

On the page, that becomes ONE capitalized word.

And a spoken thought that rambles for 40-odd words shrinks into a 10-word line.

So if you feed an AI your call transcripts and ask it to “write like me”…

It learns how you TALK.

Then it writes emails full of “kind of like” and “right?”… which sounds like you on a Zoom call at 9pm, not like you on the page.

(not a great look in an email)

Chart: phrases used when talking vs writing – kind of like 100 vs 3, or something 97 vs 2, right 90 vs 7

The fix: build the profile from your WRITING. Your best emails, the sales pages that sold, the posts people replied to.

Transcripts can still give it your stories and your favorite phrases… but the rhythm has to come from the page.

What goes into a Voice DNA profile?

A complete map of how YOU write, speak, joke, sell, and structure your thoughts.

This basically reverse-engineers how you actually communicate.

Not just the obvious stuff like “I write in short sentences” or “I’m casual”…

…but the REAL stuff.

The phrases you always reach for.

The way you build up to a point.

The weird tangents you go on before circling back.

How you sell without it feeling like selling.

How you sound when you’re fired up vs. when you’re being vulnerable.

All of it.

And once the AI absorbs this… it stops defaulting to that generic, sanitized, “sounds like everyone else” voice…

…and actually starts to sound like YOU wrote it.

No, it won’t be perfect (I want to highlight that because it’s important!)…

…but close enough that you only need to tweak a few lines instead of rewriting the whole damn thing.

Who should the AI be writing to?

Your voice is only half of it.

The other half is your Dream Client Profile:

A deep (borderline-creepy-accurate :D) profile of the exact person you’re writing to.

Not just “female, 35-45, likes yoga”…

No no no no no :)

I’m talking about their false beliefs, their secret fears, the exact words they use when they talk about their problems, what they’ve already tried, why it didn’t work, and what actually makes them buy.

The kind of stuff that makes someone read your email and think:

“How the hell does this person know me so well?!”

How good is your voice document?

Probably not as good as you think.

If you already have an old avatar or voice doc from some other course, score it from 1 to 100.

Most people’s old documents score somewhere between 30-40.

A properly built one typically lands at 80-90.

That gap is the difference between:

“meeeh, close enough”

…and…

“WOW, this AI actually sounds like me”

One of my subscribers, Matthew Stublefield – a product management consultant, deeply technical, NOT easily impressed – tested this harder than anyone.

He built a SCORING SYSTEM to objectively measure the output 😮

(this guy is thorough lol)

Here’s what he found:

His old Voice Guide scored 62/100.

After rebuilding it?

87/100.

That’s a +25 point jump… from the SAME source material.

His old Ideal Client Avatar scored 71/100.

Sounds decent, right?

Except there was a problem:

It was targeting the WRONG buyer entirely!

The rebuilt version scored 85/100… and was now scoped to the RIGHT person.

Think about that for a second…

This is a smart, experienced consultant who’d been working on his AI voice for over a year.

And his existing documents were pointing him at the wrong audience this whole time.

(How much revenue do you think THAT costs someone over 12 months?….)

Then he tested the AI’s writing across 10 different dimensions (voice authenticity, story integration, pacing, specificity, argument sharpness and more):

– His own human writing: 82

– AI without the new files: 71

– AI with them: 85 🔥

In other words…

The AI output actually BEAT his own writing on most dimensions 😮

Matthew Stublefield voice file scores: Voice Guide 62 to 87, Ideal Client Avatar 71 to 85, AI writing 85 vs his own 82

His words:

“Reading the draft, it sounds pretty much like me. Best $79 I’ve spent in a long time!”

Matthew Stublefield, product management consultant

Now, I want to be real with you:

Matthew is a power user. He went DEEP with this.

You don’t have to build a scoring system to get most of the value.

How do you make AI write like you this week?

1. Collect 20–30 of your best writing samples.

Emails that got replies, sales pages that sold, posts people shared. Writing first… transcripts only for stories and phrases.

2. Turn them into a written Voice DNA profile.

The phrases you reach for, how you build up to a point, how you sell, how you sound fired up vs. vulnerable. Plus a short list of words you’d never use.

3. Build a Dream Client Profile.

Their false beliefs, secret fears, exact words, what they’ve tried, why it failed, what makes them buy.

4. Score both from 1 to 100.

If either one lands in the 30s or 40s, rebuild it before you trust it.

5. Load both into every AI chat… and edit the last 10%.

It won’t be perfect. It doesn’t need to be.

If you’d rather not build these by hand, that’s exactly what my Voice & Market X-Ray does: you upload it into any AI chat (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), answer a few questions, and it builds both files in about 20 minutes.

(Matthew paid the early price. It’s $149 now.)

Your AI already knows how to write.

It just doesn’t know how to write like YOU… yet.
